What is stamped concrete overlay? The technique of applying a coat of bonding material to the surface of existing concrete, then a layer of overlay material that is stamped with a pattern design.
What is overlay material? A cementitious mix of portland cement and polymers, plus color.
What is antiquing? Highlighting with darker colors to create a natural effect (as seen in real stones, real slate, real brick, etc)
How thick is an overlay surface? It is approximately ¼ to ½ inch thick depending on the depth of the pattern selected. A pattern with deeper grooves needs an amount greater than one that is shallow. The most common patterns like stone, slate and bricks use approximately a 3/8 inch thick layer.
